voltage computer
What kind of hardware can translate voltage and display on a computer?

Hi,
I want to make a pair of flex sensor gloves which can sensor the change in voltage and send it to a computer. Right now, I am looking for a hardware that can process the data from the gloves. The data will be digitized and displayed on a computer. Any suggestion? I tried to find it online, but the one I found is too expensive.
Thanks

You need a data acquisition device, sometimes called a datalogger. The ones from Pico Technology are the cheapest I know of.

Still not exactly cheap though.

If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful way of getting analog data into a PC, you are ok with 8 or 10-bit resolution, and you can handle a soldering iron, get a JoyWarrior chip from www.codemercs.de. They emulate a multi-axis joystick and are automatically recognised by Windows. You’ll need to write a program to read the joystick axes but there’s plenty of examples on the web of code to do that.
