Can an HD computer moniter be used with an xbox 360?

I want something HD, but most decent HDTV’s are a little out of my price range. The computer moniter’s are bigger and better for the money.

I bought a xbox to vga adapter for a few dollars on ebay and I use a monitor.
I believe it is considered high def. the picture is unbelievably better than that of a t.v.
